Narrelle- I have been nursing for close to 40 years and have worked as a Practice Nurse at the Sharp Street Surgery for nine years. Over that time I have built up a close and caring relationship with our patients. I am a 'general nurse' and can turn my hand to most things. Being an "Accredited Nurse Immuniser" allows me to immunise our babies and children. My other duties here at the surgery include, but are not limited to, spirometry, ECG's, assisting doctors with procedures, triaging of patients and dressings and ear irrigation. I love coming to work every day.
Tracey - I have been a registered nurse since 1986. Diabetes education and wound management are my passions, with my experience in diabetes taking me to the Middle East for 5 amazing years. I have formal qualification in diabetes education, wound management and stomal therapy. I do, however, lend my hand to many other nursing tasks during the course of my day, and like to approach each patient with a smile and a generosity of spirit.
Ann - Originally from Sydney, I trained (too many years ago) at Sutherland hospital. As an "Accredited Nurse Immuniser", I love cuddling the babies, but dislike making them cry. I am also involved in all day-to-day nursing aspects of the surgery, some of which include ECG's, spirometry, dressings, assisting doctors with procedures, ear irrigation and triaging of patients. I also do Home Visits to the over 75 yr olds to attend a Health Assessment. The Health Assessment covers referrals to My Aged Care for domestic assistance and occupational therapy.
Janine has been a Registered Nurse for 34 years and a Midwife for 26 years.
She has always enjoyed caring for people, so working at The Sharp Street Surgery has enhanced that love and connection with the women from the Snowy Mountains region. Working with Dr Learoyd as his Midwife has expanded the excellent Women Centered Care he provides.
Janine sees women on a Tuesday morning from 182 Sharp Street. She cares for them throughout their pregnancy and beyond, complementing their confinement at the Cooma Hospital's Maternity Unit.
I have been nursing for 26 years in a wide variety of settings. These include mental health and corrections, along with the usual general hospital and community nursing roles. I joined the team at Sharp Street Surgery in September 2017, keen to do something different again, and I am, covering all the lifespan, babies to the most mature members of the community. I have enjoyed every day so far and look forward to continuing as part of the Sharp Street Surgery team.
